Description of the study programme
BASIC STRUCTURE OF THE STUDY PROGRAMME:
The curriculum of the second degree of the Combined Programme in History Teaching is a continuation of the first degree, while organically deepening and developing it. This intention is visible both in the well-established structure of the SP courses - their division into three basic modules - and in the content focus of the individual courses. In particular, the profile subjects (both compulsory and optional) make a substantial contribution to the achievement of the objectives set out in the graduate profile; the modules are designed to interconnect and mutually condition each other, while the subjects of the two compulsory elective groups, in several possible combinations, organically deepen the content of the compulsory subjects and together form the three components of the structure of the consistently determined requirements for the preparation of future fully qualified history teachers: Master's universal teaching basis, current issues of scientific historiography in the Slovak context and in in-depth regional and world studies, theory and teaching of history as an in-depth reflection of the theoretical components of the didactics of history and current needs of practice. The preparation of students for practice is also implemented in the content of the courses of the last group.
A direct and natural part of the study programme of history teaching in the combined second degree is the study programme of the so-called universal teaching basis of the Faculty of Education for MA studies, i.e. the components of the social science, pedagogical and psychological basis of the common teaching field. Its description is included in the appendices of this accreditation file. The content of the specific teacher education programs (double majors) within the study programme 38. Teaching and Educational Sciences is formed by combining the content of three components - the Common Social Science, Educational and Psychological Basis of Teaching (hereafter referred to as the "Teaching Basis" or "TB") and two endorsements.
Teacher Combination Studies and History Teacher Education and:
- English language and literature
- Spanish language and literature
- Italian language and literature

The curriculum of the second degree in combined history teaching also determines (recommends) the student's study paths: i.e. the time and content sequence (continuity) of teaching of individual subjects and teaching methods, informs the student about the forms of assessment of learning outcomes and about his/her workload measured in terms of credits. On the basis of the defined rules, in accordance with the conditions of the study programme and in accordance with the Study Regulations of the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava, the student draws up his/her own study plan. The student determines his/her study plan for the following period of study by enrolment. He/she enrols in subjects of such credit value and in such a composition of compulsory, compulsory optional and optional subjects that he/she can fulfil the conditions for enrolment in the next part of the study in the control stage of the study. In the academic year in which the student plans to complete his/her studies, he/she shall enrol in courses of such credit value and in such a composition that, by successfully completing them, he/she will fulfil the conditions for completing his/her studies.
The curriculum of the study programme 23685 Teaching History Combined M.A. is made up of three basic modules - compulsory subjects, compulsory optional subjects and optional subjects, while the division of subjects into modules first determines and foreshadows the method and way of realization of the set objectives of education. They are assessed by credits. The curriculum also identifies profile subjects which make a substantial contribution to the achievement of the learning objectives and outcomes and to the graduate profile. The curriculum, which is attached in the Appendices, provides the following information:
- the number of credits - which the student needs to obtain for each module (group of subjects)
- the subjects of the curriculum, including their credits

FEEDBACK:
Student evaluations of teachers' work through anonymous questionnaires: summarization for the academic year. Anecdotal annotation of student teachers' evaluations:
Students evaluated all teachers of the department and basically all subjects taught. Numerical satisfaction with the work of the educators ranges very high for all questionnaires (from 1.0 - 1.06 - 1.09 as the best possible rating through the most recurrent ratings on a scale of 1.36 to 1.97 to an exceptional 2.5). Students regularly (96% of all questionnaire responses in both semesters) praise both the professional and personal approach of the lecturers and give relatively specific examples of this (most frequently: mastery of the subject matter, excellent way of presenting information, immediate and prompt approach to answering requests for additional information, willingness to help with any additional difficulties). Only very rarely was there an opinion about the content of lectures or subject matter being too difficult, or individually another complaint (occasional stretching of lecture length). On the other hand, even with such lecturers and in such evaluations, there are very positive comments on very specific results of their work with students.
