M.I.M.A. Memory and artistic matter
Presentation:
Contemporary artistic creation has potential values in danger of disappearing, fundamentally we refer to the growing lack of knowledge of artistic matter and the tendency to consume industrially processed materials. This phenomenology conditions a distancing on the part of the artist from that close link with the matter, from its natural obtaining and its processing, from its technical application as well as consequently from the empirical knowledge of its principles and possibilities. Many artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, innovative in so many aspects, have been losing without almost realizing the extraordinary potential that knowledge of the material from tradition and craft implies, despising the craftsmanship and popular knowledge that is preserved in the memory of the peoples and that is part of their roots. Focused on the knowledge of artistic matter as a sine qua non value of creative phenomenology, our action wants to develop lines of work with students of the Degree in Fine Arts based on:
- Recovery and experimentation with traditional artistic and craft materials, techniques and procedures that are in danger of being forgotten.
- Development of local educational cartographies relating to natural and sustainable materials used or with the potential to be used in the creative processes of the visual arts specific to undergraduate studies in Fine Arts.
- Establish lines of experimentation in the classroom that reinforce the knowledge and use of past artistic material and its potential in contemporary creative languages.

Zdokumentovanie akčného umenia/akčnej tvorby (s úsilím dosiahnutia trvalo udržateľného stavu) v skupinách dospelých a seniorov vytvára jedinečný priestor pre hľadanie stálosti v zlomových situáciách v živote.
