In the area of research the department focuses on these broad areas:

Social relations from the point of views of theory of politics, of ethics, of gender studies, of aesthetics and of philosophy.

The department has been organizing international as well as domestic conferences on diverse topics related to civic education.

Project of experimental verification of methods of implementation and educational means in the subject of civic education in cooperation with related subjects at the second level of primary school and at secondary school with emphasis on civic competences of pupils
The project was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2020 as an experimental verification of new methods.
