A founding member of the department who headed it for 18 years.
He graduated in aesthetics - philosophy at the Faculty of Arts of the Comenius University in Bratislava.
He focuses on aesthetic education, multicultural education and methodological issues of aesthetics.
In 2002 he was made Professor of Systematic Philosophy.
He has worked at the Slovak Television, the Research and Recording Centre of the Academy of Performing Arts. Currently, he works at the Department of Ethics and Civic Education at the Faculty of Arts in Bratislava, where he served from 1990 to 2008 as the head of the department and for several years as the vice-dean of the faculty.
He has completed several study stays, e.g. India, USA, Finland, the Netherlands, Great Britain, etc.
He cooperates with several NGOs, e.g. IPAO, Nadácia Milana Šimečku, Nadácia otvorenej spoločnosti, Nadácia pre deti Slovenska, Človek v ohrození, UNICEF, etc.
He has lectured at universities in Finland, USA, Czech Republic.

He has been the principal investigator and principal investigator of several international and domestic projects (PHARE, TEMPUS, UNESCO, VEGA, KEGA, Iuventa, etc.

Founding member of the department. Graduated in philosophy at the Faculty of Arts of the Comenius University in Bratislava.
He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Ethics and Civic Education at the Faculty of Arts, University of Bratislava.
The main topics of his theoretical interest include anthropological issues (pedagogical anthropology, philosophical reflection on man, cultural and social anthropology), pedagogical thinking in relation to the European tradition and contemporary media issues.
He is the author of six monographs and co-author of seven university textbooks.

Since 2018, she is the Head of the Department of Ethics and Civic Education.
She is a graduate of the Faculty of Education of the Charles University in Bratislava, majoring in mathematics, civic and ethical education, and of the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University in Brno, majoring in gender studies and sociology.
In 2010, she received her PhD in Pedagogy.
She has been working at the department since 2005.
In her pedagogical activities she focuses on didactics of civic education, gender aspects of education, sociology, sociology of education and youth.
In the research field, she focuses on identifying key areas of gender inequality in education.
She collaborates with NGOs that focus on gender equality in education and training, education for active citizenship, and relationship and sexuality education.
She is a member of the Committee for Gender Equality, a permanent expert body of the Slovak Government Council for Human Rights, National Minorities and Gender Equality and the GEA - Gender and Education Association.

He graduated from the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava, where he studied philosophy. He completed his doctoral studies at the Department of Philosophy and History of Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in the field of systematic philosophy.
Since 2016 he has been working at the Department of Ethics and Civic Education at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University.
As a teacher he is engaged in the history of philosophy, ethics and ethical education.
His research interests include philosophical anthropology and ethics, with a special focus on the philosophy of Martin Buber.

She is a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Comenius University in Bratislava, in the field of Teaching of General Education Subjects: Aesthetics - Philosophy. She completed her doctoral studies at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University, Department of Aesthetics. In her dissertation she focused on the comparison of art.
Her research interests are in the field of art comparison and aesthetic-philosophical concepts.

She received her PhD in Political Science in 2019 from the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences at Comenius University and the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Antwerp. Her PhD thesis focused on Europeanization and European Union public policy in the field of gender equality. She holds a master's degree in Political Science from the University of Versailles-St. Quentin-En-Yvelines and Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.
From 2020 to 2021, she was an external postdoctoral researcher at the University of Antwerp.
Her research interests include gender and sexuality in social movements and public policy, gender discrimination, and sexual harassment. Previously, she has worked with civil society organisations on gender equality and human rights issues.
In her spare time, she is an educator and journalist. She is the editor of a monograph on sexual violence, Without Consent.txt.

She graduated from the Faculty of Education in a teacher training programme in teaching of citizenship and history. After completing her doctoral studies in Political Science, she further specialized in the innovation of teaching humanities and social science subjects, active learning methods, academic debate, and Challenge-based Education. She has led courses and workshops on innovative teaching and completed a 2-year program on Effective Teaching for Internationalization accredited by the UK agency SEDA.
Her research focuses on the impacts of teaching on learning development, digital technologies, and artificial intelligence in education.
She also serves as an instructor for Challenge-based Education at Comenius University for the Enlight aliance.
