Supporting social work interventions with the refugee population and strengthening the overall social service workforce capacity within the refugee response in Slovakia
The project focused on strengthening social interventions and the capacities of services working with the refugee population in Slovakia. It supported social and humanitarian workers through professional training, supervision, and methodological tools that responded to practical needs during increased migration flows.
An important component of the project was the coordination of student volunteer support, which contributed to activities in community centres, newcomer orientation, administrative assistance, and basic support for refugee families.
The project was implemented in close cooperation with the Migration Office of the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic and non-governmental organisations, which played a key role in providing continuous support to refugees on the ground. Its activities included the preparation of analytical outputs, methodological materials, and the development of digital training tools.
The project also produced educational and professional outputs focused on case management, work with vulnerable groups, multidisciplinary cooperation, and cultural orientation. These tools helped strengthen the competencies of workers and volunteers assisting refugee families.
The project contributed to the stabilisation of professional and volunteer capacities and improved coordination between state and non-state actors, thereby enhancing the availability and quality of services for refugees in Slovakia.
