Language Teaching Symposium Maltepe 2025

On May 19-23, 2025, our colleague Mgr. Diana Židová, PhD. participated in an Erasmus + teaching mobility at Maltepe University in Istanbul, where she taught topics focusing on the use of picture books by contemporary Australian author Shaun Tan entitled Using Pictures in EFL: Shaun Tan's Eric and reflective poetry by contemporary Canadian author Rupi Kaur entitled Self-awareness and Well-being in Rupi Kaur's The Sun and Her Flowers.

On May 22, 2025, she was one of the speakers at the symposium entitled “2nd Language Teaching Symposium: Language and Culture” with a lecture Teaching Literature in EFL through Mediation. This mobility strengthened mutual professional and friendly relations between the departments and stimulated new opportunities for cooperation in international project calls. Warm thanks for the invitation to the mobility and symposium, as well as for the generous hospitality, go to the head of the Department of Foreign Language Teaching, Prof. Nejat Töngür, and his friendly team of teachers at the department and participating students, without whom this mobility would not have fulfilled its purpose.
