Department of Psychology and Pathopsychology UK
The Department of Psychology and Pathopsychology has a long tradition at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava. Comenius University in Bratislava is the largest, most prestigious university, which has long been the only Slovak university to be ranked in world university rankings. A diploma of a graduate of Comenius University is highly accepted not only in Slovakia but also abroad.
With its focus on the psychology of people with disabilities, our workplace is unique in Slovakia. The staff of the Department are top experts and specialists in psychological disciplines with long-term psychological experience. The department offers individual psychological counselling to male and female students of the faculty, focusing on issues of study, career and personal growth.
STUDY PROGRAMME: COMBINED PSYCHOLOGY TEACHING
The Bachelor's degree programme in Psychology Teaching combined in the field of 38th Teaching and Educational Sciences is offered in both full-time and part-time form. Candidates choose to study psychology in combination with another academic subject (English, German, Spanish, Slovak, civics, history).
Admission requirements:
On the basis of the results of the entrance examination, with partial account also being taken of secondary school results. In this case, the weight of the entrance examination is at least ¾ of the total result of the admission procedure. The entrance examination shall consist of a written and an oral part. The oral part will focus on motivation and personal aptitudes for studying psychology teaching in combination. In the written part, the applicant will demonstrate the following knowledge:
- human biology at the level of grammar school education
- psychology at the level of secondary school social studies
- a general overview

In addition to the compulsory and compulsory-elective courses, you can also choose from the following elective courses: Fundamentals of Art Therapy, Fundamentals of Drama Therapy, Fundamentals of Play Psychotherapy, Fundamentals of Applied Behavioural Analysis, Social Psychological Training II.
Educational psychology subjects also form a component of teacher training in which you will have a choice of other interesting subjects.
