 PROFILE

Mojmír Malovecký - his research focuses on the intersection of linguistics and the teaching and learning of foreign languages; his broad research interests over time include general linguistics, linguistics of specific languages, general Romance studies, Romance languages and cultures, translation, didactics, and issues in the learning and teaching of foreign languages. He is co-author of the Slovak glossary of terms of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. His research activities include addressing the issues of teaching contrastive grammar of Romance languages and Slovak from the perspective of the enunciative approach, the search for a method in contrastive linguistics, the issue of motivating the learner of a foreign language through the use of databases of authentic historical documents in foreign language teaching, he has addressed the deontological issues of teaching grammar of a foreign language, he has researched the issue of language norms and linguistic usage from the perspective of deontology. He has also researched the history of intercultural relations between the countries of Central Europe and the countries of Romance languages with a view to correlating it with the history of Slovak literature by using the didacticisation of the history of intercultural relations as a motivation in the teaching of foreign languages. Between 2020 and 2022, he was a member of the research team of the scientific research project on basic research on multilingualism in the perspective of time and vision in Romance languages. The project design included the use of qualitative methods supported by qualitative data analysis software solutions and a combination of inductive and deductive research methods. Since his PhD, he has been working on the use of information and communication technologies in linguistic research (automation of language analysis). He has many years of experience in leading work teams also within science and research. In addition to multiple memberships in research teams of domestic and international projects, he has been the leader of a domestic research project as well as the deputy leader of a scientific research project. He has extensive experience in international cooperation (partner universities France, Romania, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Hungary).

PROFILE

PhDr. Mária Medveczká, PhD. works at the Department of Romance Languages, Literatures and Didactics of the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava as an assistant professor. In her scientific research she focuses on cultural relations between Spanish-speaking countries and Slovakia, as well as on issues related to the teaching of Spanish to Slovak students, with an emphasis on issues related to Spanish grammar. She is a member of El español en Europa, an international research team focusing on demolinguistic research on Spanish in Europe. She is the author of numerous scientific studies published in various European countries (Spain, Romania, Serbia, Hungary, Czech Republic), including the monograph Neología de forma en la terminología de las tecnologías de la información (Bucureşti, 2013).

PROFILE

György Domokos was born in Budapest in 1963, where he graduated in mathematics in 1987 and in Italian language and literature with a title in didactics in 1988. His first employment was at Eötvös Lorand University, Department of Italian Studies as a librarian. He began teaching at grammar school in 1989, first at the Piarist Gymnasium, Budapest and then at the Mary Ward Gymnasium, Piliscsaba for until 2006. He wrote his PhD in Italian linguistics in 2001 under the control of Prof. Giampaolo Salvi, who was his tutor also in his habilitation in 2008, based on a textbook on medieval Milanese syntax, used also at Milano Catholic University. He became member of the Ambrosiana Academy in Milan in 2012 and obtained the title of full professor first in Bratislava, in 2021 and then also in Budapest, in 2023. He is teaching in Budapest at the Pázmány Catholic University since 1997 and in Bratislava since 2016. He translated from Italian to Hungarian more than 30 books and has a publication activity with more than 150 articles and books. His main fields of study recently are Didactics of Italian, Manuscripts on the Kingdom of Hungary in Italian archives, Paleography, History of Language.

PROFIL:

Doc. Mgr. Renáta Bojničanová, PhD., is a member of the Department of Romance Languages, Literatures and Didactics at the Faculty of Education, Comenius University in Bratislava. She graduated in Spanish and Slovak Philology at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava. She completed her doctoral studies and received her doctorate at the Complutense University in Madrid. Her professional interests include inter-literary and intercultural contexts within the Hispanic and Central European cultural space, as well as issues of translation and methodology of teaching literature. In her teaching activities, she teaches courses on Spanish and Hispanic American literature, literary theory, the history of Spain and the Hispanic world, mediation activities and, as part of these, translation exercises. She is the author of studies, monographs and teaching texts, co-editor of edited collections and editor-in-chief of the journal Philologia.

PROFILE

Doc. Mgr. Beatriz Gómez-Pablos, PhD. is a member of the Department of Romance Languages, Literatures and Didactics at the Faculty of Education, Comenius University in Bratislava. She studied Philosophy and Spanish Philology at the Universität Wien, Austria, where she also completed her third degree (PhD.). From 1998 to 2007 she taught linguistics at the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Salzburg. Since 2009 she has been working at the Comenius University in Bratislava, where she also completed the habilitation procedure at the Faculty of Arts in General Linguistics. Her areas of research include historical lexicography, American Spanish, topics related to both translation and language didactics, fields in which she has published in the form of monographs, textbooks, scholarly studies, and articles. The mainstays of her teaching activity are the fundamentals of didactics, foreign language teaching, oral and written expression of the Spanish language, language system 1 and 2. She has so far participated in domestic and horticultural research projects as a researcher and member and has participated in various international conferences (Germany, Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Costa Rica, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia).

PROFILE

Doc. Mgr. et Mgr. Katarína Klimová, PhD. associate professor in general linguistics. Her scientific research and teaching activity is focused on general, Italian and contrastive linguistics (mainly comparative-contrastive analysis of Slovak and Italian, and possibly also English and Spanish languages at the mofosyntactic and textual level). She also works on the topics of intercultural communication and language politics. She has completed several study and lecture stays at foreign universities (e.g. Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Spain, Italy). She is the author or co-author of several original scientific studies published at home and abroad (Czech Republic, Italy, Romania, Turkey, Macedonia, Spain, etc.): some of them are registered in the Web of Sciences and Scopus databases. She is co-editor of several scientific proceedings published in the Czech Republic and Italy. She is the author of the monograph Questioni di aspetto verbale: un confronto tra italiano e slovacco (Roma: Aracne, 2012) and of the university textbook On the interface between communication and persuasion: models and strategies of professional discourse (Banská Bystrica: UMB Belianum 2020 Publishing House).

PROFIL:

Zuzana Malinovská, prof., PhDr., CSc,, professor in the field of Romance Literatures, works at the Department of Romance Languages, Literatures and Didactics of the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava. Her research focuses on the theory of literature and contemporary narrative literature in French, Quebec and Swiss. She is the author of a number of original scientific studies, published at home and abroad (France, Switzerland, Canada, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Turkey, etc.): several are registered in the Web of Sciences and Scopus databases. In addition to editing proceedings and co-editing (e.g. for the peer-reviewed journal World Literature Studies), she is the author of monographs, including the frequently cited Puissances du romanesques: regard extérieur sur quelques romans contemporains d`expression française. Clermont Ferrand : Presses Universitaires Blaise Pascal, 2010. He has long-standing collaborations with several foreign university departments.

PROFILE

Tivadar Palágyi was born in Budapest in 1967, where he graduated in Italian and French language and literature with a title in didactics in 1990. His first employment was at Eötvös Loránd University, Department of French Studies as an assistant.  He wrote his first PhD in 1995 on Italian and French stylistics. His second doctoral thesis was written at the Universtiy of Aix-en-Provence on medieval comparative literature (French, Italian, Latin, Greek and Turkish) in 2006 under the supervision of Professor Michel Balivet. He habilitated in Romance literatures in 2013 in Budapest and in 2018 in Bratislava. He obtained the title of associate professor in Budapest in 2006 and in Bratislava in 2018. He has been teaching French and Italian literature and linguistics at Comenius University, Bratislava, Faculty of Pedagogy since 2018. He translated from French into Hungarian several books and has a publication activity of more than 50 articles and books. His main fields of study recently are Didactics of Italian and French, medieval literatures in the Romance world, Italian, Greek and French stylistics, multilingualism in Europe.

PROFILE

Radana Štrbáková works at the Department of Romance Languages, Literatures and Didactics as an assistant professor. She graduated as a teacher of Spanish and French language and literature at Comenius University in Bratislava. She received her doctorate in Spanish philology with the distinction of Doctor Europeus from the University of Granada in Spain. Her teaching activities focus on selected aspects of grammar and lexicology and on the development of linguistic competence in a foreign language. Her research interests include the history of the Spanish language, with a focus on lexical changes in the 18th-19th centuries and in contemporary Spanish. She has also participated in several VEGA research projects focused on the study of Romance languages in the context of foreign language teaching and on intercultural relations between the Hispanic world and Slovakia. She is a member of an international network of researchers in the project El español en Europa, within which she deals with the demolinguistic aspects of Spanish in Central Europe. She is the author of the monograph La dinámica del léxico de la moda en el siglo XIX: estudio de neología léxica (2013) and other publications published in Slovakia and abroad.
