WHAT DO WE MEAN BY “SCHOLARSHIP OF TEACHING AND LEARNING”?
By scholarship of teaching and learning we mean:
· systematic research on the processes of teaching and learning (own teaching research, identifying problems that need to be solved, the preparation of small research projects)
· improving of own practice and student learning outcomes (reviewing the effectiveness of learning and teaching, recording and analysis of experiences, successes and failures)
· knowledge and experience shared with other teachers (peer commenting, getting feedback, public presentation and publishing, building the knowledge and experience portfolio).
Amongst the tools for improving the quality of university teachers in the area set we mainly count interviews and focus groups, questionnaires, observations, case studies, content analysis of texts and activity products, experiments, reflections and analysis carried out by university teachers.
