Center for helping students with special educational needs

The Centre is established at the Model Centre of Special Educational Counselling at the Institute of Special Education Studies and Inclusive Education of Comenius University, Faculty of Education in Bratislava. The Centre acts as a model workplace for students applying to study at the university and also as a contact point for communication with educators from other universities working in the field of counselling support for students with special educational needs. The Centre is equipped with special aids to make education more effective and accessible to students with special educational needs.

The Centre, through its staff, is professionally and personally qualified to provide specific special education services to all students with special educational needs who appear among applicants for higher education studies at colleges and universities in Slovakia. These services are unique in their breadth within the national scope, as they provide counselling services to all categories of students with special educational needs.

Within the Centre for Helping Students with Special Educational Needs, special education counseling services are provided primarily to individuals with hearing and visual impairments, individuals who are physically disabled, ill and medically impaired, individuals with learning and behavioral disabilities, and students with multiple disabilities.
