Profile

Mgr. Martin Droščák, PhD., has been working as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava since 2022. He graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Comenius University in Bratislava in the field of study Teaching of General Education Subjects, specialization: geology – chemistry (Mgr.). Pedagogy, he completed his doctoral studies in 2013 at the Faculty of Arts of Comenius University in Bratislava. Since completing his Master's degree, he has worked as a teacher in primary school and gymnasium, which enhances his practical experience, which he applies in his lectures, seminars and exercises at the university. His research and publishing activity is focused on the field of general didactics, pedagogical diagnostics, school management and the work of the class teacher. He has written a scientific monograph entitled: Activating Teaching Methods in Secondary School Teaching Practice (2014) and a university textbook: Introduction to General Didactics for Teacher Education Students (2015).

Profile

Mgr. Mgr. Mária Fuchsová, PhD. has been working as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava since 2010 (Department of Biology, Centre for Special Pedagogical Research, Department of Didactics of Science Subjects in Primary Education, Department of Didactics of Mathematics and Natural Sciences). She studied at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of Comenius University in Bratislava, major – biology, specialization - anthropology, extended by additional pedagogical studies. In her bachelor and master studies, she provides courses in human biology, developmental biology, clinical anthropology, and natural science primary education. Her research and publishing activities are focused on educating students of pre-primary and primary education in the field of natural sciences with an emphasis on their biological part and the use of research activities. Recently, she has been working on the development of technical literacy and the use of new modern digital technologies in connection with research activities in the process of teaching pupils and students in science subjects.

Profile

Assoc. Prof. PaedDr. Ján Gunčaga, PhD. works at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava. He graduated in 1997 as a teacher of general-educational subjects, mathematics – physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Comenius University in Bratislava. In 2004 he successfully completed his doctoral studies in Theory of Mathematics Teaching at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. In 2010 he received his PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science at the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Debrecen, Hungary. He is currently working on Didactics of Mathematics and History of Mathematics Education. His teaching and research activities are focused on the Theory of Mathematics Teaching in Primary and Lower Secondary Education. He is a member of the Union of Slovak Mathematicians and Physicists as well as the German scientific society Gesellschaft für Didaktik der Mathematik.

Profile

Assoc. Prof. PaedDr. Lilla Koreňová, PhD. works at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava. She graduated in Teaching of General Education Subjects, Mathematics – Fundamentals of Technology at UPJŠ in Košice, and completed her doctoral studies in Theory of Mathematics Teaching at FMFI UK in Bratislava. Habilitated in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Debrecen, Hungary. In her publishing and research activities she is interested in didactics of mathematics, digital technologies in teaching and learning mathematics, theory of tests and testing, e-testing, e-learning and statistical methods in quantitative research. For more than 20 years she has worked (also externally) as a teacher of mathematics and computer science in primary and secondary schools. She has experience in lecturing and supervising several programmes of further education of teachers of Comenius University in Bratislava and MPC, she was a supervisor in the national project of NUCEM "Improving the quality of education in primary and secondary schools using e-testing", she was also an expert in mathematics and a lecturer in the national project of UIPŠ "Modernization of the educational process in secondary schools". She was the author and principal investigator of an EU-funded (ESF) project, submitted to the MPC in Bratislava, within which several hundred teachers were trained in Slovakia by e-learning in 2005 – 2007. She was also the author and principal investigator of the EU (ESF) funded project "EMATIK" submitted by FMFI UK in Bratislava, where more than 1000 mathematics teachers from all over Slovakia were retrained by e-learning in 2007 – 2009. She was the principal investigator of the international project for UK Bratislava DQME II- Developing Quality in Mathematics Education – A European Network (2007 – 2010). Within the international GEOMATTECH project she was a lecturer in many teacher training courses in Hungary. She is the chairperson of the MPC Bratislava attestation committee for the first and second attestation for the subject of mathematics and a member of the MPC Bratislava continuing education committee. She is a member of the editorial board of several international professional journals. He is a member of the national doctoral committee for the doctoral study programme in Mathematics and Computer Science in Hungary (Hungarian Doctoral Council), supervisor of doctoral study programmes in Pre-school and Elementary Pedagogy (PdF Comenius University in Bratislava) and a member of the doctoral committee and supervisor of doctoral studies in the field of Theory of Mathematics Teaching (Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra).

Profile

PaedDr. Martina Totkovičová, PhD., works as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava. She graduated in 1999 as a teacher of general-educational subjects, mathematics – physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Comenius University in Bratislava. In 2010 she successfully completed her doctoral studies in Theory of Mathematics Teaching at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava. Since completing her Master's degree she has been working almost continuously as a teacher at an eight-year grammar school, which allows her to connect the academic world with practice. Since 2011, she has been publishing mainly mathematics workbooks for both 1st and 2nd grade of primary school, where she is the author of the concept and co-author of the popular mathematics helpers. Since 2019, she is the author and co-author of many didactic aids oriented to teaching at the 1st level of primary school. Her pedagogical and scientific research activity is focused on the Theory of Teaching Mathematics in Primary and Lower Secondary Education.

Profile

Assoc. Prof. PaedDr. Ján Záhorec, PhD. works at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava. He graduated in teaching of general-educational subjects in the apprenticeship of informatics – physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. He completed his PhD in Theory of Teaching of Informatics at the Faculty of Education, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. He has completed his higher education of the third degree (PhD.) in the field of Social Sciences – Pedagogical Sciences – Technology of Education at the Faculty of Education, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra. Within his pedagogical and scientific-research activity he is engaged in education, preparation and evaluation of professional didactic-technological competences of teachers. However, during the whole pedagogical activity, his dominant focus is on the issue of creating methodologies and didactic strategies for teaching science disciplines, most often based on interactive digital solutions at the primary and secondary level (ISCED1 – ISCED3) of education of the regional education of the Slovak Republic. He has translated the interconnectedness of previous theoretical and practical experience into outputs of publications and scientific activities with international citation acclaim. His scientific works are indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases.

Profile

Prof. PaedDr. Katarína Žilková, PhD. works at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava. She graduated in Teaching of General Education Subjects, Aprobation in Mathematics – Computing. For more than 10 years she worked as a secondary school teacher of mathematics and computer science at a grammar school. Currently she is engaged in Didactics of elementary mathematics and preparation of future teachers for pre-primary and primary education. She is a member of the Committee of the Union of Slovak Mathematicians and Physicists and the Slovak Mathematical Society. The author's pedagogical and scientific research activity is focused on the Theory of Mathematics Teaching and Preschool and Elementary Pedagogy.
